Quick cure for Hyperacidity

Guys, what is the quick cure for hyperacidity aside from antacids? I'm scared of popping in antacids because i suspect that it causes my short breaths sometimes. Somebody told me to try yogurt. Do you think that's ok?

What do you consider to be the best antacid to take?? I will take tums from time to time, but they have to be the berry kind. Any other kind and I start to gag. My husband takes the Pepcid and he says that works really good.
