baby sign language book, is it a good gift?

I was asked to be a godmother to one of my colloge friend's 7 month old daughter. I bought her some clothes and a baby sign language book. I'm just wondering if the baby sign language book is a good idea? I am not a mommy yet...

I've been teaching my baby signs since he was six months old: eat, more, drink, milk, all done. I know he knows what they mean but the only one that he has caught on with is more. He is now nine months. Does anybody else do signs...

My oldest who is 5 loves the Polar Express, and never gets sick of watching it. My younger one loves baby signs. She can always find it and tries to put it in.

how many here have engaged in Baby Signs in trying to talk to their babies? i started teaching my baby to sign when he was about 4 months old and he started signing back when he was around 6 or 7 months... it was great because...
