Books vs. Movies???

We know that so many movies are based on novels and books. We also know that movies do not exactly match the books there is some addition or subtraction mostly subtraction. So what do you prefer?? I prefer watching movies...

If they made Dragonlance into a real people, LOTR quality movie, who would play our favorite characters? I have heard some wacky suggestions from some of my friends, so think hard, and tell me who you would cast :)
