Sis-in-law is doing well. Thanks again, y’all. The next three days will show you just how diverse the year 1973 was musically. After that, it’s top ten time, and yet more diversity. Let’s have another song that’s now...

I've had a lot of songs about Mondays running through my head today. This is not unusual I suppose since today is Monday.
The day started drizzly and cold, stayed cold, got sunny for a while, and then the wind picked up. The...

It was almost impossible to choose the next song...there are dozens to pick from!
Today's favorite was recorded by Perry Como in 1954 and 1959; but I'm featuring "(There's No Place Like) Home for the Holidays" by the...

Most people know who the Carpenters were. "Karen Carpenter" is the only solo album she recorded during her lifetime. She died much too soon at the age of 32 due to complications relating to anorexia.
Tracks:

A beautiful rendition of "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?" comes from The Carpenters. Karen Carpenter's one-of-a-kind voice does more than justice to this song. We lost her much too early. Wishing everyone a safe, happy,...

Not all songs that reference the radio have “radio” in the title, so here’s the companion countdown: songs that are about radio without mentioning “radio” in the song’s title. And, what do you follow a band like the Replacements...

I got my mom a new record player for Christmas, since her old one is unwieldy and hasn't been played in years. She loved it, and the first record she played was "Carpenters", the 1971 album by the talented brother and sister duo...
