Contract services vs. PrePaid Service

So basically I'm looking for thoughts on contract services vs. prepaid services.... services like Sprint, Verizon, ATT, etc Vs. Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Tracphone, etc. What are the pros, and cons?

I use to use my cell phone more then my landline but I changed my plan and went back to the landline. I am convinced keeping those cell phone devices next to your ear for long periods of time is bad for your health.
