Debit card or Credit card?

Which do you prefer? And what are the advantages/disadvantages of your choice? I'm planning to open either of the two and still deciding what's more okay between them. Please help me decide by sharing your thoughts

I have always been told that if you have a debit card with a Visa or Mastercard logo that you can use it wherever Visa or Mastercard are accepted. A few months ago I was at a store only get a couple of dollars worth...
