Cats and Doorbells

Our cats run when they hear doorbells ring and when they hear people knock at the door. Do yours??? I wonder why they do this. Other than just the loud noise.

Some kids keep ringing my doorbell and then running away. This has happened two days in a row at about 6:30 PM. I can't catch the kids, they are too fast. I can be standing right next to the door, but I can't get to it fast enough...
