Because I love the film so much, do you think it would be unwise to read the book? Usually this is the other way round... I'm not sure. Has anyone read the book?

Since a child this was my favourite film. I remember watching it randomly on TV one day, and then in years to come watch it again and again everytime it happened to be on. Now I haven't seen it in years, and wonder if I should...

Empire of the Sun came out in 1987, and yet, I can still hear the music of the choir at the beginning of the movie. Can you still 'hear' it too?
