Our old fig tree done up at one Xmas

We had a party for seniors from an old age home and we decorated this fig tree that we lost to termites. The theme was blue and white - bot the streamers and lights were of this colour with silver buntings to have some brightness...

Why does Jesus curse the fig tree?

In Matthew 21:18 (also in Mark) Jesus curses a fig tree it seems because he was hungry and the fig tree had no fruit. I don't see what the lesson is here. Please advise as to what your opinion is. thanks.
