what is the lug patern of a 95 ford f-350 powerstroke deisel 4x4? is it 8x6.5in or 8x170mm

1989 Ford F-350 iginition switch installation

On the switch is a metal clip. Does this stay on the switch, and if so in what position? I have bought two, now, and the service tech at both parts stores told me they did not know what it was for. James G jkemblem@cox.net
