photo results | Arabian Horse Newsletter from May 1978 | When I was a kid, I spent a lot of time drawing pictures of horses all over everything. My school work, homework, notebooks, stray papers, anything really. When I found out that you could send pictures that you'd drawn to horse magazines and to this one newsletter, well, I sent them horse pictures all right! The one that I still have newsletters from was put out by the International Arabian Horse Association. In the beginning, it was called the Junior Arabian Horse Club but then they had a contest and re-named it Friends of the Arabian. I was the winner of that contest! I chose the name! How excited I was! I won a bumper sticker and two decks of Arabian horse playing cards! Kids could send in games, puzzles, stories, poems and pictures they'd drawn of Arabian horses and they would publish them in this monthly newsletter. It was fun. The newsletters that I have saved are the ones that have pictures, poems and stories in them that I did, well along with other kids too. I will be taking pictures of them all for my Family Memory box.
I have put the newsletters in order of month and year. Here is May 1978. I took a picture of the cover but the picture on the cover is by someone that is NOT me. There are only two pictures that I drew in this issue. One on page 9, one on page 10. | |
