Just bought a ps3 and a bunch of movies. I thought that the blue ray and hd were about the same thing. Popped in an hd dvd and nothing. Luckily, we just bought the movie today and they let us return it even though it was open.

I own both formats, and personally I have to say it is a tie. Both HD DVD and Blue Ray look and sound much better than a standard def DVD, but Blue-Ray has more support which means more selection, while HD DVD has a much better...
