What do you do to avoid to keep awake reading at night?

Most of us have experienced having homeworks and reading books late at night. However, during the night, it is somewhat hard to stay on focus. It is very tempting to sleep. What do you do to keep awake and stay focus in reading...

my in law was inmy house during the week and God this guy was so nice ,i had a good time with him all day but when it was night i had a big problem because he snores louder than i have ever heard in my life ,its an understatement...
