Any ideas on how to clean a fish tank?

I have a 30 gallon I think fish tank. I have it all emptied out and cleaned but there is a 'scale' deposit on it. Lime? not sure and I can't get it cleaned off. Does anyone have any suggestions? My solution was to squirt some lime...
