WHY Loius Vitton products are so expensive?

I was just wondering what makes LV so expensive? Is it the material used or the name? If it's the name? What do we get from it? hehehehe.. Some LV bag's in an auction site start bidding at 466$? Is it worth it?

Gucci, Louis Vitton, Richemont,Burberry, Prada, Bulgari, Louis Phillipe, van Heusen, Park Avenue or any other Luxury Brands. Which is your most favourite brand? Do people prefer Luxury brands to quality brands?
