What do you take for period pains? I have been lucky in life in the fact I have rarely suffered really bad period pains and normal panadol does the trick for me, but I know some people suffer really bably.

I prefer not to take over-the-counter drugs if I can possibly avoid it, but I do sometimes get very bad period pains. Can anyone make any suggestions for good pain relief methods that will help me through the day? Hot water...
