Do you use command regedit ?

When my PC become slower and slower over time i do two things - clean all stuff + registry with CCleaner or go to my windows registry with command regedit. When first method is used i am not in charge for all windows registry etc...

What will happen if windows registry gets corrupted?

If the electric current/power suddenly is out, will it harm your computer? They say you will have your windows registry get corrupted. How will you know if it becomes corrupted? Thanks in advance for answers!
