Thunder Alley at Rolling Thunder

Rolling Thunder is held every Memorial Day weekend, the Sunday before Memorial Day is observed, in Washington, DC. The run forms up at the Pentagon and goes over Memorial Bridge past the Vietnam Memorial. It is a run for POW/MIA (prisoner of war/missing in action) awareness. If you like bikes, come see it. One year we had over 600,000 bikes registered for the run. It seemed there were almost as many there as support and as onlookers. It is beautiful!

This is Andrew. His mom and I have been friends for 35 years. They were visiting me for the Memorial Day holiday. Being a younger man, Andrew was happy spending more time playing video games than outside on the deck with the rest of us! (He's sitting in my favorite seat!)

Patton at Rest

This is Patton. He is a big cat. He is 6 years old, yet extremely playful and friendly and I would not trade him for anything else. He is a great cat and he stays with my mother during the day and night and she loves him. He was named for my favorite General, George S. Patton. He was born on Memorial Day in 2002 along with McArthur, Joey and Mimi. I will be providing a picture of the others soon.

I'm very proud of my husband who is a veteran of Desert Storm. He had to serve for six months. One good thing that resulted from that experience is that he got a job with the U.S. Postal Service when he got back home.
