Soylent Green - If You Haven't Seen It Since 1973, Watch It Again!

anniepa @anniepa (27943) • United States 3 Jan 09

Since this is an old movie, released in 1973, I'm going to assume most of you who are reading this haven't seen it, in fact many of you weren't even born when it came out...lol! It was made in 1973 but set "in the future" - the...

Joe the Plumber = Joe the Sponger?

anniepa @anniepa (27943) • United States 9 Nov 08

Joe the Plumber became a household name following the final Presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain and while McCain and his supporters repeated blamed Obama for violating poor Joe's privacy, it wasn't the Obama...

Congratulations Obama and Democrats in the US!

It was a long and hard fought campaign, and I can't say the best candidate won (since all the best candidates were taken out in the primaries), but the one who put on the best campaign definitely did. There are many reasons why...

celticrogue I believe he will prove most of the low brow accusations against him to be false. He probably will have a very rough beginning due to the mess that Bush and members of Congress (both Republicans and Democrats) have created. After eight years of failed...

Bush administration illegally leaked personal immigration info to help McCain

ClarusVisum @ClarusVisum (2163) • United States 1 Nov 08

Concerning this half-aunt story: "A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Kelly Nantel, said the government does not comment on an individual's citizenship status or immigration case. No, but...

Palin unwittingly criticizes her running mate's policies...again

ClarusVisum @ClarusVisum (2163) • United States 31 Oct 08

Palin should really check that her running mate doesn't have a well-established policy of doing EXACTLY what she criticizes Obama of doing--it just makes it more obvious that there is no coherence or functioning line of...

Liddy Dole's "Godless" Ad

anniepa @anniepa (27943) • United States 31 Oct 08

Have you seen the ad run by Senator Elizabeth Dole against her opponent Kay Hagan? In this ad listeners hear a voice that is meant to be taken for Hagen's saying "There is no God." You can view the ad...

Democrats and Liberals

worldwise1 @worldwise1 (14885) • United States 30 Oct 08

I just happened to be watching the Tavis Smiley Show on PBS a couple of nights ago and one of his featured guests was Dr. Cornel West of Princeton University. Dr. West clarified something to me that I had been struggling with for...

ClarusVisum No one agrees with Obama (or any politician) on EVERY issue, so it's really not a big deal to be in the position you're in. In general, the USA is a center-right country. Here's how you can tell--extreme right-wingers are the kind of people who want an...

I can't tell you how satisfying it is to finally end all the years of futility related to Philadelphia's sports teams. Anyone who have followed the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers or Sixers know that we've come so close but were never...

R.I.P. America!

rodney850 @rodney850 (2145) • United States 29 Oct 08

The following article asks the question; is America dead, does she even exist any more? If there is any life left in this old girl, it won't be there in a few years if the democrats have their way with this election! The article...

ClarusVisum Very funny. Everything goes to hell over the past Republican administration, and mystically magically, American will "die" unless Republicans are given another four years. Just more fear and smear.

By McCain's definition we must already be a socialist country

spalladino @spalladino (17891) • United States 26 Oct 08

John McCain, hanging on as tightly as ever to that "spread the wealth" tightrope, said in a recent rally that spreading the wealth...taking from one group to give to another...is something other countries do, not this country....

CherylsPearls @CherylsPearls (1269) • United States 25 Oct 08

How many of you think that the DRS in myLot actually works the way is should? If you post in Politics or Religion, do you think that others who merely disagree with you will rate you positively for keeping on topic? Do you think...

UtopianIdealist I have not been on mylot very long, so I didn't even realise people could rate you in a negative matter based on just your opinions. I think that will limit debate, as if you care about your ratings, you will not want to upset the herd if your views differ. I...

genihanna Actually I don't see the point of the rating system at all! What point does having a star of a certain color with some number in it mean anyway? Does it mean that I should treat that person differently? Or that I shouldn't respond to someone's discussion who...
