Do you have family reunions?

dragonstar13 @dragonstar13 (1465) • United States 20 Jan 07

My family gets together twice a year, usually 50 - 100 of us. We have traditional meals that we share -- corned beef and cabbage cause we are Irish, and we try to recreate some of my Mom's recipes, we play Scrabble, Trivial...

GraceGirl It sounds like your family has a lot of fun! :) We don't really do reunions, per se, since we're a relatively small family. Over the years, our extended family network has shrunk due to people "going home," and due to others marrying off. There's eight of...

GraceGirl I have only a short comment, but it says it all. Blood is thicker than water bro. "Friends" come and go, but sis will be by your side throughout your entire life. 'Nuff said.

The pressure of options

marilyn290384 @marilyn290384 (13) 29 Dec 06

Do you think the reason that so many people suffer from breakdows and mental exhaution is because some people cant cope with the options there are on offer. The fact that you can do anything and fail at doing anything, the fact...

GraceGirl Wow, this is for sure a deep thought. I think the world has gradually become more hectic. Actually, it's not the world...it's the people running it. We've put so much focus on so many trivial things that we have to scrimp to get the important ones in. I...

GraceGirl Christian music is pretty much the only music I care for. Occasionally, I hear a song from another genre that is uplifting, but usually, I just don't enjoy other types. I absolutely love Third Day. Ironically, though they're from my state too, I've never...

GraceGirl I've noticed this a lot too, and it really saddens me. I also enjoy the festive times with family and friends, but I never ever ever want to forget the real meaning of Christmas. Without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, there is no holiday on Dec. 25. It...

GraceGirl You could do a community honoree event, where people silently nominate a deserving family who needs help with home repairs or other things, and then that family is honored and treated special for a day. Or you could start a new festival based on some obscure...

GraceGirl ROTFL!!! I actually know someone this happened to. It wasn't a python, but to me, any snake is creepy. She went into the bathroom, started to sit down, and stopped just in time! Went squealing out and got it all taken care. But sheesh...talk about taking...

GraceGirl I actually have one that I could let go. My great-nephew is 20 mths old, but his grandmother got him one, so now I won't be giving him one. I don't want to break any rules here though, so I don't know about how to discuss it with you? I'll read through the...

have you noticed the lack of gentelmen now?

samsonskola @samsonskola (3357) • United States 3 Dec 06

I was born and raised in the south. A gentleman held a door open for a lady, and was polite and courteous. I try to be courteous for everyone I can. But I'm finding a trend...lots of times if I'm going out a door and a man is...

GraceGirl I actually kinda think that it might be partially a regional thing. I'm from the south too, and I still see it a good bit. Though, not as much as I used to. I'm like you...I think it's polite and wish we saw it more often.

The last thing that is needed is comments of bad taste in the wake of the crocidile hunters death. Did his death touch you in some way, or are you still coming to terms with the shock of losing a wildlife warrior?

GraceGirl I was shocked at the suddenness of his death. It was such a freak accident that no one on earth could have foreseen it. I know that there are reports his wife is a Christian believer, and I really hope he was too.

GraceGirl The actual thought of a body shutting down permanently is always a little freaky. However, I have given my heart to Jesus, and I firmly believe that there is Heaven ahead. That's my reason for living...to glorify my Lord.
