This is nothing more than a simple, brag post. I humbly present before my adoring fans, the marvelous quilt that I just finished binding. It is a gift for the niece that will be transforming me into a Great Aunt next...

In my neverending quest of searching for my "perfect" job, I've come into one major problem that, I believe, has affected my ability to apply, if not accept, job offers. I've waited 31 years to become a dog owner, and now that I...

Jeff Moffitt I am severely allergic to most dogs, so I would not want dogs in the workplace with me. However, I don't like to be a big party-pooper, so I'm wondering if there could be a way to bring one's dogs to work, yet still be sensitive to people like me? You know how...

(This is my response to @Raelove 's post, 'The Hell that Is Humidity') I've spent time in Tucson, Arizona and Kisumu, Kenya. The two places share a weather relieving factor: humidity is low. I've come to find that it isn't the...

Jeff Moffitt @HaleighElizabeth I agree! I've found myself paying much more attention to all my weather apps on my phones (I have three of them...apps that is, not phones!). It seems like we don't have normal or average weather events anymore these days, everything seems to...

Genipher I've got a bag full of old shirts that I'm hoping to turn into a quilt one of these days. It's interesting seeing the "history" in the bag. Items from yeeeeears ago. It's going to make one sweet momento! I love quilting because it's fairly easy. Just straight...

Death Penalty has raised a lot of issues especially in the country which strongly believes in the preservation of life. But because of rising rates of crimes all over the world, this has also been the battle cry of a lot of...

cherigucchi @HaleighElizabeth I hear you. You just remind me of my late father's argument about it. And both of you are right.

It's a full-moon tonight. The cats are telling me that they want to turn into werewolves at the stroke of midnight. This basically means that they will chase each other at break-neck speed all around the house and upset the...

I decided to make a baked potato for lunch, with stuff on it. Ten minutes in our old microwave, a little water in a bowl, put the tater in the bowl and cover it with another. I have butter, sour cream & cheese and hot sauce on it....

Movies and TV these days over exaggerate many aspects of life. I started watching ~30 minutes into some terrible on-basic-TV movie and and there was a woman who needed to do some investigating into a friend's new nanny. The...

I've been on a Lifetime, "TV for women" kick for about 2 days now. So for my "discussions" may be movie reviews. Don't judge me for my terrible taste in movies ;-)

Sue H. Oh well, it's one of my guilty secrets too. Once in awhile I'm in the mood for one of those Lifetime movies. The better movies may command Oscar worthy performances, but sometimes you want something that doesn't take much brain power or emotional trauma. So I...

mammots This is indeed a difficult decision to make ... but ever since i have always been opposed to the death penalty. For me death is the easy way out for a guilty criminal not to be hounded by his conscience anymore ...that is if he still has a conscience.
