zeloguy Watch out for Mepis... it is a fast up-and-comer and ranked very highly for it's compactness and features. Ubuntu and SuSE are two other great distros. A place to see about different linux distros is

cnetboss Ubuntu is still the best Linux Distribution. And It's also the most stable Linux OS.

shankru85 type top 10 linux distributions in the google search and hit enter click the first link in which distrowatch has given a great review....i hope that should help u i personally would recommend ubuntu or suse
