Well, we got that new dog I wanted--he just isn't really what I expected my next dog to be! :) I kind of wanted a small lap dog next, to keep me company on my nights off! But I still love this big goofball! We got him when he...

LilyoftheThorns LOL! it was a really big shock! I think my exact words when the two of them ran in together were "oh my God!" And I immediatly reached down and grabbed the collar that was, thankfully, on him! But I worried for nothing! He gets along well with everyone!...

My son is 14 months old and usually takes two naps a day. He is beginning to act like he only needs one nap. He will just sit in his crib and play when he is suppose to be taking his afternoon nap. If he doesn't end up taking his...

amazingheart From what I read in the magazine, goal for a nap is to allow your child to get adequate rest to fuel the rest of the day. The optimal length of naps varies by age and among children, but the best naps are usually 1 to 2 hours in length. If your child tends...

VF1Jtrainer My own schedule has been very hectic, and as a result our twin boys never adopted a precise schedule. They 13 months (minus ten weeks pre-mature) and still take two naps a day. BUT they nap when they fall asleep, not because I tell them to. AND they usually...

jessi0887 I would try to narrow down to one nap. In my sons daycare they narrow them down to one nap at one years old. They take a two hour nap after lunch and thats it. Two hours give or take some should be good for your son.

I had never heard of this software before until I was searching the internet yesterday. It is a computer program that allows babies to bang on the keyboard. It has music and pretty colors. They can also learn their shapes, ABC's,...

smacksman Oh dear. What's wrong with just good old fun. If baby gets a kick out of it and by the sound of it so would I, where's the harm if used in moderation. Their attention span is pretty short anyway so he won't get too hooked on it. But how about you? Will...

My heart breaks after reading a story like this. In Bogalusa, Louisiana, a babysitter noticed that the baby was not breathing and had several marks on her body and called 911. The child suffered head trauma, hemorrhaging, burns,...

4monsters4me We used the store brands for our last 2 kids. We'd use Parent's Choice or whatever Target and K-mart had, depending on where we were when we were buying it. Our kids had no issues with and we spent half as much on formula. We used the kind without the DHA...

Sillychick I have never tried that brand specifically, but what I would do is compare the labels of that and the name brands. If there are differences, bring them to your pediatrician and ask them to compare and let you know if the generic is as good. My pediatrician...

foxyfire33 You're very welcome! The last two are definitely more for older babies and kids who will think it's kind of funny...a 2 week old would probably be scared! But you'll have plenty of hiccups to deal with in the coming months and years!
