How would you solve this problem?

laglen @laglen (19759) • United States 25 Jun 10

Drug cartels have warned border towns to look the other way or else. They have actually sent warning that they will start targeting law enforcement. Police have been told to stay armed even while off duty. Chief Jeff Kirkham of...

matersfish First and foremost, I'd shut out Mexico completely. This includes, of course, securing our borders by whatever means necessary. If people want in, apply. Boo-friggin-hoo if they have to wait. It's not like folks from Europe can just sneak across the ocean. Are...

xfahctor The short answer....No. Now for the long answer. I had a great deal of respect for her when she was governor, she was a pretty good defender of her state and seemed to do some genuinely good things up there. But I can't support her as I don't feel she truly...

Is America Afraid to move forward and why?

TTCCWW @TTCCWW (579) • United States 23 Jun 10

I saw this article this morning and it struck many cords with me. We have been in much harder times in America and yet we seem to be afraid to step up and make real changes in our direction and remain a leader in the world at...

lilwonders It comes down to more than that...but you are right about them using hot button issues to raise money. Both sides us it to "rally the troops" and raise money. they play off emotions. It also comes down to a person's idea of what they want for themselves and...

matersfish I expect politicians, being representatives of the people and in our employ, to forego the haughty BS when folks are suffering. But I don't really expect it from executives. Unless it's found that this dude is personally responsible for what seems to be an...

Why the federal court challenge to the Arizona law will fail..

xfahctor @xfahctor (14113) • Lancaster, New Hampshire 20 Jun 10

Or at least, why it should fail. If one is going purely on the basis of case precedent, there is no shortage of it. There are plenty of cases but I will focus primarily on the more relevant ones, but will also list the rest for...

millertime I think you are right, their challenge will fail, or at least it should. We'll see how much power and control the Obama administration has over the courts. I find it interesting that he is showing how little regard he has for the law. He and his...

Bachmann Offers Advice to BP!

anniepa @anniepa (27955) • United States 17 Jun 10

Here's what Michcle Bachmann told conservative Washington Post blogger David Weigel: “If I was the head of BP, I would let the signal get out there -- 'We're not going to be chumps, and we're not going to be fleeced.' And they...

sid556 Hi Anniepa, As always the politcals jump in to a crisis such as this and use it to play the blame game. I am sure BP did not intend for this to happen. I am sure that in cutting corners as they did, they did not foresee any such horrific disaster coming...

matersfish I personally don't subscribe to that thinking. It's stating the obvious that the majority of anything is going to treat the minority of something bad at times. I'm sure the skinny kid at fat camp would be subject to "bullying." But making minorities of any...
