Here in Montreal there is a case going on where a landlord is taking her tenant to court because she is a smoker. The tenant maintains that she has a right to smoke inside her own home since she is not allowed to smoke outside...

dixie1 I do not know the laws in Canada. My opinion is that the landlord owns the house and can set any rule he wants. On the other hand, it is the landlords responsibility to outline these rules in a written contract prior to the lease.
