What's your favourite Christmas carol and Christmas pop song?

snowflake5 @snowflake5 (1579) • United States 9 Dec 06

My favourite Christmas carol is "Silent Night" and my favourite Christmas pop-song is Band-Aid's "Do They Know it's Christmas", which still brings a lump to my throat when I hear it. What about you? What are your favourites?

Will Segolene Royal become the first female President of France?

snowflake5 @snowflake5 (1579) • United States 9 Dec 06

I hope so. She seems a better leader than Nicholas Sarkozy, her opponent (who seems to be a nasty little Napoleon). I think Britain (where I'm from) will deal with Mme Royal better than M Sakozy. If she wins, she will be the...

What do people think about Green taxes?

snowflake5 @snowflake5 (1579) • United States 11 Dec 06

Green taxes are taxes on behaviours that hurt the environment, eg burning fuel that produce CO2 emmissions. There is no doubt that taxing does reduce the bad behaviours. For example, Europe consumes MUCH less petrol than the...

Should the UK leave the European Union?

gary236 @gary236 (83) 3 Dec 06

The UK is the fourth largest economy in the world and one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. When you bear this in mind, it would seem astonishing that the UK is not actually an independent country. "But...

When you pray, what is your other Surah?

gary236 @gary236 (83) 4 Dec 06

Can Sourav restore India's glory?

gary236 @gary236 (83) 1 Dec 06

gary236 @gary236 (83) 3 Dec 06
