No not at all. Muslims r not the terrorists but the people are. The religion is not terror. It is all because of the food they eat, the company they life make them qruel. Change ur eating and then c the difference

YOu mean meat eating? I can agree with you on that. Violence begets violence. That is why I am a vege. I do not support any type of animal killing or contribution to causing to kill.

No I dont. But as with the other mylot user who commented - Killing innocent people - mothers, wifes, babies, children for JIHAD or in the name of ALLAH or JIHAD is not right.I am muslim but I dont agree with it. Then again you must think of all the fight and wars that is going on, Bomb blasts etc.Where does it all start from.Go and think nice.

Thank you for your comment. I will say that if one goes by the surveys or the last names of the terrorists, then most of them ahev islamic or muslim names. Howevever as you rightly said, those that are killing innocents are actually not muslims because they are not following the basic tenets. But this is a big issue now. I hope for the peace on this world, people amicably solve these issues. Killing or wars wont do that. Thanks again.

JIHAD is not what the terrorists say. JIHAD, as prophet Mohammed said, is, to reform ones own self, so that he cud become close to ALLAH and liked by Allah. but its not killing women, children, innocent people. u know what pr.Mohammed taught his disciples when they went to war? "dont kill women, dont kill children and old people. dont burn trees." if so, CAN THE PRESENT DAY TERRORISM BE CALLED JIHAD ? i am a muslim but i dont agree with the present day concept of jihad. i totally disagree and hate those who wage war in the name of jihad

I already made that point in the beginning. But my question was what is the stand that people generally take? Surely peopledont ignore the fact that a overwhelmingly vast majority of terrorits are muslims. A point may be that they are not ctually following Islam, that many people like to make. My point is that muslims in general shoudl disown these people. And not have any sort of sympathy whatsoever so such lousy creatures. Thanks for the post.

who says that muslims have sympathy for terrorists.. i think its media who isnt bringing the facts in front.. Take into consideration abt 9/11 attack,,america said we found proofs that Al Qaida was behind all this,,why wasnt the proofs presented all around the world,,if alQaida had done that,,they should have taken responsibility for attack,,but they denied it.. these groups tale responsibility for small small things then why decline this?? Also Iraq,, What was d outcome?? Total destruction of whole nation..foud nothing.. Sympathy comes naturally but it isnt related with islam or terrorists,,everyone hates Terrrorism,no one wants 2 loose the loved ones

Of course not! Terrorism should not be judge by religion but by actions of those who performs it.

True. But lets be real here. I have all respect for many of muslims I know who are very friendly and innocent. However we cannot be too goody goody and close our eyes to the fact that an overwhelmingly large number of terrorists call themselves as muslims. So whats the reason for that. I believe compassionate muslims have a role to play here.

From what I have seen? Yes it is, tho there are bad people in all religions. However, you dont see christians killing people if someone draws a picture of jesus.

That is true. Much as one would like to say that all are same, reality is not that. But, let us not forget that it is due to fanatic teachings in madrasas and not due to the tenets of Islam. Yes, there is need to bring these terror preachers in madrasas to book.

More to the point, you don't see Christians practice because they couldn't care less about their religion! Secularisation has swept through Christianity to the detriment of society. Islam is a more practical faith and so evokes more emotional responses but still jihad is a struggle for one's religion - not killing innocent people which is haraam.

I dont know much about islam, so cant relate Islam to Terror. But if u go by the stats u have to accept that there is something that relate islam to terror. I m sure some people are taking the holy preachings of Islam in the wrong way.

Absolutely not...and I think its a shame that there are ppl who do..I know that after 9/11 there was a lot of hate crime goin on in the U.S and Canada and its a sad thing...Ppl need to learn to place the blame where it belongs and thats with the ppl involved not the religion (or race etc depending on the situation)

No, I don't equate the two. The terrorists are radical Muslims, just like Pat Robertson of the 700 Club is a radical Christian. Most Christians do not agree with Pat, and I am sure most Muslims do not agree with terrorism.

I am sure that what youa e saying is true. But the point stll is that we need more than 'not agreeing'. We need condemnign i strongest possible words. Be it radical Muslims, radial christian or radical anything.

I agree with you. Most islamic nations are relatively doing poorly in literacy. I am sure that is one reason if not a significant one atleast it plays some part. A poor man can always be manipulated by miscreants.

Yes unfortunately I do. The media has put Islam in a very bad light after the 9/11 terrorism. I think its up to the genuine devoted muslims to clear this bad image that the international media has put on Islam. I am really afraid of theocracy where certain countries there is no difference between religion and politics, so the law of the country is the Shariya.

Hi achyuta! Happy New Year! I dont equate Islam with Terror. I have plenty of friends from different beliefs, mostly Christians, some Muslims, and I even have some friends who are Atheist. Character and Traits varies from people to people. Like Christians, there are good ones, there are those who choose the wrong way. Life is just like that :) We can never generalize because each individual is unique and I believe there are plenty of good hearted muslims out there :)

well i wud suggest that people who have negative thoughts abt islam and muslims to first go and gain knowledge of this religion from Quran[the holy book of islam] and Hadiths[ the sayings of Holy prophet [P.B.U.H.] pluz scholars of islam. Iam sure after that you wont need any more clarifications on anything.Islam just promotes peace and tranquility. Its a religion which if followed in the ryte spirit keeps your soul & heart & mind all at such serenity which is just truly unexplainable in words.
