My daughter will be 6 in just a few weeks. Tonight she is using her step stool and actually doing the dishes with her father. While she appears to be enjoying herself, I think it is too much. But I cannot argue with both of them....

helpingmomsathome I would first try to distract the child, but asking him about something he's interested in (ex. Transformers, Barbies, fave cartoon, etc.) Try changing the subject. Get him thinking about something else. If that doesn't work I would say "No" and explain why....
