What possession do you own has the most memories behind it?

ankit_620 @ankit_620 (496) • India 28 Jan 12

My harmonica. Late at night, when i begin to feel anxiety I head down to the train tracks to play some blues. Just me a flask of whiskey and my harmonica.

michaelthewriterguy A knife my father gave me that was his grandfather's who used it in WW2. I keep it in a case and look at it all the time. Reminds me of the sacrifices so many people have made for this country.

Renewing wedding vows

blue65packer @blue65packer (11826) • United States 28 Jan 12

Is it a good idea to have them renewed every year or not? I know there are people do and some who do it like on the 25th wedding anniversaries. What is your thought?

good idea or not

michaelthewriterguy What is the point of having your wedding vows renewed every year? That would take what the ceremony is supposed to mean and turn it into something trivial, and tedious, and it would almost become routine. 25th wedding anniversary makes sense, because it is...

michaelthewriterguy I think the word describe how you feel is essentially depressed. But everyone goes through this eventually. It is only temporary, I promise you. You'll eventually have a better relationship, your family will either consume itself or get better, and things will...

Type of Dog

Ktexas @Ktexas (13) 28 Jan 12

Anyone know of a good dog that I Can get for a three year old. I don't want anything big, just a pet that is friendly.

3 responses

michaelthewriterguy Any type of small dog would be fine. I would actually go for a mixed breed of chiwawa and some other dog, but generally if you don't want a puppy that will grow to be fairly big, sticking with small dogs that are puppies is a good idea.

michaelthewriterguy This month has gone by quite fast actually. I've been occupied with my business and writing poetry and a new novel, but I did get a lot done. I love the winter though. There is something enthralling about this time of year.

Why do people cover up a tattoo after spending lots of money on it

joystick @joystick (1675) 27 Jan 12

michaelthewriterguy Well, there are many places where people walking without pants or shirts is a bit unacceptable. Anyway, it is just true that sometimes you have to cover a tattoo up in the real world. In a typical work environment some people perceive people with tattoos as...

Have you ever gotten a tattoo or piercing on a whim?

maezee @maezee (41911) • United States 27 Jan 12

This is how I got my tongue pierced, one day I randomly decided I wanted it, and the next thing you know, I was at a shop having a big needle stuck through my tongue (didn't hurt TOO bad though!). I thought of this discussion...

michaelthewriterguy I've woken up several times and said I'm going to get some weird tattoo, but never have. I've gotten two tattoos, one on my left and right shoulder, and I carefully planned those out. Getting a piercing on a whim is not as bad as getting a tattoo, because for...

power naps!!!!

maezee @maezee (41911) • United States 27 Jan 12

I got off work early (woo hoo) this afternoon - I left at about 12:30! Whereas normally I would leave around 3:30. It kinda sucks hours-wise but I love it because it gave me an 'early start' to my weekend (since today is Friday...

michaelthewriterguy Power naps rule! But then there's always the problem of staying up too late and waking up the next day feeling a bit groggy (on weekdays, on weekends who cares?). And yes it is normal. You might have worked harder than you realized. That happens to me a lot.

I find some people so strange on face book

joystick @joystick (1675) 27 Jan 12

There are people that put a status up and then when a person makes a comment like whats happened now, they reply I will inbox you, so my question would be why put it as a status if you could have inboxed a few friends. Also if you...

michaelthewriterguy The thing is many people don't think when they post things on facebook. I think on some level they like it when people they do not "want" to see the status comment on it because they like the attention and it gives them an opportunity to be dramatic.

Should you lend money to relatives?

carpediem17 @carpediem17 (1315) • Singapore 27 Jan 12

michaelthewriterguy I would wait until they asked me, but I wouldn't give it away without knowing for what specifically. If they are in dire need of money, then I would lend it to them, but if they need to alleviate some pressure then it is really their problem. I'm all for...

Wearing clothes inside out

nicanorr @nicanorr (1789) • Philippines 26 Jan 12

In a party you honestly discovered yourself wearing your clothes inside out or an associate seated in front of you invited your attention on the same thing, what must you do to avoid the embarrassment?

1 response

michaelthewriterguy You must draw attention away from yourself. I would create a distraction of some sort, perhaps inciting a dispute between two people then I would slip out of the room and change my clothes to the right way in. Or you could just go with it, and if it's a real...
