Well I did my federal taxes back in March. I have yet to do my state taxes! I also do my parents taxes and haven't done them yet either! Eeeekkk! Talk about procrastinating - they are due today!!
Anyone else done the same? (please someone be as bad as I am so I don't feel so bad LOL)

I've had my federal refund for ages. Honestly I will be happy if the state refund gets here by the end of June. We are going on vacation the first week of July and it would be nice to have that money for our trip. NOT holding my breath though.

I always seem to find these old discussions! Anyway, hope you got your taxes done. AARP has a volunteer tax program that does taxes for free for low to middle income people. You don't have to be an AARP member or even be over 50. Check them out next year!

Hello maildumpster, well I didn't have a job last year so I didn't have to file taxes, but when I did have jobs before my taxes would be done in February or March because I want to get money back as soon as possible. My parents have not filed theirs either, and I don't think they plan on doing it any time soon. They probably will send it after the deadline just like they did last year, hehehe. Well I will talk to you later. Have a nice day.

You're definately not the only one... I've been procrastinating on my taxes this year. I really need to get them sent off this week, but I just can't get motivated to sit down and finish them! You'd think the return I'll get would motivate me to file them already, but I just hate doing accounting stuff and digging through old receipts to find everything I need. And I have to look at my hubby's stuff too, he's away for another 10 days for work so won't be doing his own taxes. So good luck hun, you're not alone!

I am not quite as bad, but I was bad this year. I just finished the taxes and filed them online less than a week ago. Because of the boat, I have to call the marine finance people every year to get the interest amount. Although it hasn't changed in the past 3 years, so I am not sure why I bother! Then I temporarily misplaced my hubby's paperwork. Found that 2 days before I did the taxes. He was not happy! As usual, I can never locate the boat property tax info and I DO need that, so I guesstimated! I should remember what it was, DH complains loudly about it. LOL, just part of the fun...
Fortunately, since we use software, we file fed and state at the same time. Unfortunately, I forgot to print out and file the returns w/all the other stuff, so that slowed this year's up a bit. The software downloaded some info from last year's return so I lived thru it all.

I think you are in trouble! Get an extension, quick. That will give you until August 15.
