Is Krishna and Christ same ?

Both Krishna and Christ have to go out of thier place of birth for escaping from their King. Both of them were born or brought up in cowshed. The famous Hindu book Geetha says that you must find out the god in ourselves as we are the universe(Aham Brahmaasmi). Bible asks to find out the god in our soul :" Behold, the kingdom of god is within You (Luke 17:21) I am saying all these things because, in a recent news in rediff, it was noted that the russian scientists found out one Krishna idol having 2000 years old. We knows how much distance exists between India and rusia and still there exists the worship of a Hindu god. From all these, we can only understand that there was only one God at the beginning of universe and due movement of people, different beliefs born. So my doubt is that if this is true, why a section of people is running for to convert people to thier religion.

I did not see the rediff news about the Krishna idol. Can you tell in which part of Russia was the idol found, because Russia is a vast country spreading within the two continents of Europe and Asia. It is believed that the Aryans who came from central Asia brought ancient Hinduism to India. How did the finding of a Krishna idol in Russia tempted to assume that Christ and Krishna were the same? How is Russia significant with Christ's life. The other evidences you putforth about the cowshed etc. are simply superficial. No doubt that there is only one God. I think your complaint is that 'a section of people' are engaged in converting people to certain religions. Every religion spreads their ideology and beliefs. People attracted to certain beliefs get convrted to that religion. Why should somebody get irritent about that? Why do the Hare Krishna Movement work in the US, Canada and in some Europian countries? For charity? They are looking for possibilities of getting some people converted to their ideology. So don't get irritant.

Thank you for your comment. I do not know much about the activities about "Hare Krishna" outside India. But I can say that this movement is not much in India and they are least involved in conversion. Regarding the arguement of Aryans came to central Asia, it is having a hot debate . I had taken a print out of the rediff news , but it is now misplaced. I shall certaininy inform you the place from which the krishna idol was found out if I could found out the paper. In my place all Christians belive that they belong to the brahmin communiity and they were converted by Saint Thomas. But there is an interest news In Rediff news ( all these news were from their edition for India) that Our respected Pope recently made a statement that Saint Thomas never visited India

I don't recoganize the Pope as an authority to make conclusions in such matters. Also he is not a historian. If pope made such a statement how come no other agencies reported it. And what is the point under discussion? That Krishna and Christ are the same or intollerence towards somebody getting converted?

i dont think there existed a personality like krishna .in geeta krisna mean the god in us ,the god which he is talking to us or working through us ,he is the atman, the purushothama ,he is brahman.but what is important instead of deabating whether krishna or christ existed important thing is to obey what they have said to us .

I don't know about the rest of the world, but in my mind it's all the same. We are all the same, and religion is all the same, it's just unique from culture to culture. I think we are all trying to spread the same message, we just have a slightly different way of ding it. I am impressed with the way you are able to quote two different religions so acurately. I am happy when people know how to do that.

People try to convet other people to their religion because of human's natural desire for power, so the more your people, the more power you have, because I too am beginning to reason the fact that there is really just one God that is being interpreted differently by different people.
