I really like this search engine/website called snopes.com. I have gotten so many items in my bulletion boards at myspace that seem so out there. And a friend of mine told me about this site that you can go to and see if it is true or not. They(snopes.com) write that they are "an urban legend reference pages" that deals with "urband legends, folklore, myths, rumors and misinformations". I have gone there quite often and about 9 out of 10 times the boogus bulletions turn out to be false. Like the one person who has on here talking about fetus cooking in china. I thought it was a far fetched so I went there and typed in china fetus cooking and low and behold it popped up as fake. So anyway, this is a great page and you should check it out whenever you get the chance or what to look something up before you repost it on your bulletion page or send it out to all your friends as an e-mail. And if you have tried it, what do you think of it? Do you love it too?!

I've heard of that site-I totally love it! I've never searched for anything specific, just read quite a few of the stories on there though. Some of the stories are downright insane! It's crazy the kinds of things people will believe nowadays.

I have been using Snopes for a very long time, and trying to convince my friends to do the same. I have friends that can't seem to understand that everything they get in their email isn't true so they keep forwarding it on. If they would only listen, I wouldn't have so much to delete constantly.

I look up snopes.com all the time. People send me stuff all the time that seems like misinformation and I like to check it out. My mom is a major guilty party in forwarding every paranoid inaccurate email that gets sent to her. I'm constantly forwarding her the right information from snopes.

It's actually thanks to people like you here on Mylot that I learned about Snopes. I love the site. It sets my mind at ease when it comes to finding out whether something is legitimate or not. It's helped me out quite a bit.

Oh I love snopes. I get a ton of e-mail messages that are fowarded time after time and before I ever pass anything on I check with snopes first to see if it's fact or fiction. There have even been times when I go there just to look around and see some of the rediculous things people will post on the internet. LOL - I have one friend who although I've shared the link with her several times she still emails me first and asks me if something is for real or not. I check it out for her.

I'm always checking snopes out to find out what's fact and what's fiction. Also, evenif you don't have a specific claim/story to check out it's always interesting to ust have a browse around the website. I find it very entertaining and also informative.

Hi Deesamps, thank you for your information, I've just visited the site "Snopes.com" and I found it very interesting. I didn't know it before, so thank you again. In this site you can verify a lot of "urban legends", and I already took a look to some of them. I was very satisfied by their answers, so I can say that this site really "works". Thank you!
