Do you suffer from depression often or just sometimes? Or never? If you ever do suffer from depression what helps you to get over it?? For me sometimes just being by myself helps sometimes, other times I would rather be around people. I have also found that getting out of the house helps me a lot. So what do you do to overcome depression? Do you go shopping or walking, or just talk on the phone or something.

I did experience depression after a major surgery. I was always left alone at home since my two kids were in school, and my husband works out of town. I was still on a sick leave, that's why. I had some unexplained crying, and loneliness. Since I was aware of it, I forced myself to do something worthwhile to pass the time. I read my favorite books, watched TV. talked to friends on the phone, talked to my two kids, did little chores at home, and the like. I could not go shopping then 'coz I was still recuperating from the operation, but it just disappeared after I returned to work. It was then that I realized that not having work really caused me to be depressed.

I think in my opinion that when someone feels they have no purpose in life that they get depressed. I think that whenever someone has something that they can do that makes them feel important that it helps to overcome some forms of depression. I think you made some good choices to overcome your depression.

I have had depression for about 10 years now...I find some days are alot better then others. I used to take medication for it but the medication used to put me to sleep right when I didn't & should not be. So I stopped taking it. I turned instead to self hypnosis & have found that it works great.

I have found that different things help different people to deal with depression. For me medication just made things worse. But I have heard that it is helpful to some people.

i quite often feel depressed over little things.my way to deal with it is to do things that can distract you from the unhappiness such as sing songs,go out with friends,or just listen to music alone.there is another way which cant be more efficient is eat food, dessert or ice-cream or banana especially help.have you ever heard the saying that when you still have the desire to eat, then you shouldnt feel too bad.:)

Depression affects many people me being one of them and in the years I have dealt with many ups and downs. I believe if you find the right medication you can be happy or atleast content! Medications dont always come from a doctor or prescription. I have found many healthy alternatives and non-toxic products that are usually more help than the ones my doctor prescribes. Want to learn more about the products I have found to help me with depression? Just let me know and I will share all the details!

I don't like to take any kind of medication, I think sometimes, people just need a little time alone to think about things, SO they can work things out them selves.
