Juliette's experiment/research?

Can someone explain what Juliette's research is all about? I know it's re: pregnancy and the island...and I can see why she would take interest in Claire & Sun...but what's up w/ getting research from Kate? Is Kate pregnant?? what about the other women around the camp?

She could be pregnant, as she was quite busy with Sawyer. It would not surprise me. I would doubt they used birth control.
Her research is interesting, as there are so many women that can't get pregnant and when they do its a high risk pregnancy. Claire was the first person to survive and now to see, if the treatment works on other women.
