Going through Yau Man's Bag

I know this was discussed last week, but I wanted to bring it up. I'm surprised that Mookie and Alex didn't steal the idol and not say anything. I think their strategy backfired on them last night.

I have been wondering this myself after the show last night. If they are going to go through his bag, why did they not just take the idol and not say anything? It would have shocked the heck out of the other group at Tribal Council had they taken the idol and kept quiet. They were not very smart about their strategy. Of course, Mookie was also the one who told Dreamz about the idol they once had.

I know what you mean regarding Mookie....I think Mookie calmed down a great deal once, Rocky left. Clamed down, mellowed out, became careless and finally just checked out. However, Mookie did seem to be the only one aware of where his squares were located on the game board though. The others were picking their own squares, it I thought that was just strange and dumb.

I know, he could have stolen it and then played it at the tribal council. Boy, that would have been a hoot!

I wonder if there is a rule that the idol can't be stolen, because if it could, I really think that they would have. It wouldn't have mattered anyways, because the other 6 outsmarted them by splitting the vote. I was thinking that it would be funny if they had just hid the idol from yawman. It would have given the game yet another twist. I didn't even understand what they thought they would gain from confronting yaw about the idol. It totally backfired!!

I wondered if there was a rule about stealing the idol also. I also wondered what the point was with confronting Yau Man as well. I mean, I would have kept my mouth shut and maybe brought it up when it was necessary.

I agree it did backfire- Mookie was sent home- and rightfully so! They should not have looked in anyones bag. It just showed how dishonest they really are. I'm glad it backfired on them. I'm still rooting for Earl or Yao Man! Now everyone knows that Yao Man has the Idol- who cares though- it didn't seem to bother the other players.

I still like Yao Man as well. I don't think the other players care, either.

I think the plan back-fired on them because it was a lame plan to begin with. What was the alternative they gave Yau? Them telling Yau" "you tell them or we will", doesn't do anything for them. So, of course Yau was going to tell them. I'm not surprised they didn't steal it. Maybe there is some rule that they couldn't steal it. Or maybe there was something we didn't see and they stole it but were made to put it back. We will never know but that plan was dumb for sure. I agree with going down hard and giving a good fight, but I disagree with stealing or even hiding the idol.

Yes, there might have been something we didn't see because there are a lot of things that are cut out. But, that plan that they had was not very bright.

I think they were absolutely nuts for not stealing the idol! Yeah, we would all cuss them if they did - but to hold it and not take it? Not me, it would have been mine all mine! Crazy Mookie and Alex!!!

I think what you have written is the consensus of all the people who have replied so far.

that woulkd been a very smart move. I guess thats why they never thought to do it. I dont think that they are smart players at all.

He he, I agree about them not being smart at all, but I also wondered if stealing it would have been allowed. I think pretty much anything goes in this game.

Yeah I think it did backfire but if they sole it then they wouldnt have won in the end any way if they got to the finale. Having a good character seems to win over other things.

Yes, it does seem to count to a point because the "jury" ultimately decides who will win. If they feel that they've been "played" then they may vote against the person who did it to them.

I find it interesting that the original tribes didn't stay loyal to each other. Look at Mookie and Alex, who used to be on separate tribes. They mixed up the tribes pretty good this season. Maybe that's why.

I like Yau-Man too. I think maybe they aren't allowed to steal it? I don't know. Seeing Mookie's character, if they were allowed to steal it then I can't imagine that he wouldn't have done it. Yes, their strategy backfired and it was so nice to see him go after how he was talking about how people were going to pay a few weeks before for sending him to Exile Island. His ego did him in, I think.

Yeah, I think he thought higher of himself than everyone else did. Both he and Alex thought they had all the power.
