I think it has to be exercise and within the various forms ofd exercise it has to be yoga . Yoga is sucha stress buster . It has revolutionised my life comepletely . It has changed me froma stressful creature to a flying bird free to do and live according to her own will . Yoga bends your body in such ways that there are no toxins blocking away the flow of energy at any point . You feel such releived of all your stress . What bursts your stress ?

I've recently discovered Wu Tao - the dancing way. It encompasses gentle dance movements to music with a meditation at the end of the session. This modality balances Chi (vital) energy and works on the meridians/channels that flow through the body creating balance and harmony. There are five dances, which correspond to the five elements in Chinese medicine: Air (metal), Water, Fire, Wood and Earth. It brings the body and mind together into one embodied being. There is a colour, sound, taste, season, smell and emotion linked to each element. It provides deep peace within the body, mind and spirit. I've tried Yoga, but prefer Wu Tao.

What kind of meridians and channels flow through the body . I have had a hard time discovering them . Its more an act of imagination and making you believe that they are there , I don't really think there are any medians of energy . When theorizing it sounds nice and an eloquent way to talk about what exists in the body , but all these are just ways to talk about . You really have to imagine that it brings peace . The stronger the belief that any activity will bring peace the greater the probability that it will . Infact it hardly hads anything to do with the activity but with the belief that goes along !

Great question. One good way to reduce stress would be to not try to post anything here on mylot. After taking the time to compose something of value to only then have to log in again because of a time out, and even if you saved the message it can't be pasted . . well, it's too much for me. I dislike wasting my time, intently . .

Believe me I have logged into mylot just once . I will tell you what the roblem with your system is .Most probably your cookies are not enabled . If they were the username password would have been stored and you would have never needed to log in again . I just type www.mylot.com and I am automatically logged in . Though I can understand your frustration because i went through the same when my cookies were disabled . And one thing more don't log out of mylot when you leave your syatem , that is if you are not using a public computer .

I like to take hot bathes when I'm stressed, or I like to do sport like swimming if there is availability to do it, Yeah I heard about Yoga and how to control yourself and manage your power, but I don't know how to use it.

When I get stressed, I like to go to sleep. If that is not possible, a hot bath helps. One thing that helps, is ... Blowing bubbles!! How can one be upset while blowing bubbles.

Stress is a complex phenomena. Exercise is very important as stated here. Also, most of our stress is mental and not physical. To deal with mental stress, you must work on two things. First you must watch internal self talk. If you think: People are jerks. I just HATE this situation. How can people do this to me ... all of those thoughts will produce stress and irritation You must work on stopping negative self talk. Replace it with realistic talk. Next in line with this, you need to learn to relax. Stress and relaxation are opposites. You cannot be relaxed and stressed at the same time. Problem is, relaxation is difficult to do. Meditate, use imagery (like a mental trip to the beach or the mountains) to relax and calm you. Practice. With exercise, stopping negative self talk and relaxation. You can beat stress. Finally, laugh and have fun. That produces endorphins too!

For me the best and easiest way to releieve my stress is to simply pause for a while and take a deep breath. When we are infants, we know the proper breathing, but as we grow up and become task/goal oriented individuals, most of the time, we forget to breath properly. As basic and simple as it sounds, it does not only replenish the needed oxygen of the lungs and the entire body. It will eventually make a good blood circulation. For every relaxation, proper breathing is but necessary.

Yes proper breathing is the most natural and easiest way of releiving stress . Look at the way the stomach and chest of the childrn comes in and goes out . They fully inflate their lungs and take in the maximum amount of air . But after sometime we almost forget this way of proper breathing . Though we can correct our breathing at any age . This can be done by deep breating five or six times a day !

I handle stress by confronting it head on and dealing with the situation, and I relax afterward by drinking a nice hot cup of coffee at a local cafe, reading something nice, working with my computer, and listening to my favourite music. I will often listen to music in other languages, so as not to be distracted from my relazation by "someone else's story."
