An up-date and might not be around as much

First I want to thank everyone who responded to my discussion "Definitely Need Your Prayers-Help!" As I related there my benefits were to be terminated beginning May 1st...I only got this lovely news in letters I only received on Saturday, April 28th--there was no prior warning that my benefits were to be terminated in the first place! Well here's an up-date--I did indeed called a zillion places first thing today, Monday, April 30th to find out about my SSI Disability benefits...It seems someone did indeed have their heads in their butt...I explained the situation and its on their records that they had sent me forms to fill out to continue and determine my eligibility for my SSI benefits...I NEVER GOT THEM!!!! I mean crying out loud, had I gotten forms don't you think I would have sent them ASAP Pronto??? Like the same day I got them.... So now it's all paperwork stage...I'm scurrying around like a lunatic here..LOL..getting everything in gear, proof of income (none except my benefits), bills, and even receipts of everything, and I mean everything I spent the little bit of money from my mother's policy, including her funeral expenses...then I need to photo-copy everything in something like triplicate...thankfully a friend of mine came by and gave me a few bucks..not much, but it'll be at least enough to mail all this stuff out, cause if you remember I have nothing as far as funds-- So I'm gathering all this stuff together..doing cover letters, etc...so the bottom line this is going to keep me a bit pre-occupied for awhile and I might not be able to come here as often as I'd like--I'll just be too busy with all this crap to deal with. So still keep me in your prayers...one that I just don't plain have a complete meltdown..LOL and two, that this issue can be resolved as soon as possible.

That really sucks. You'd think if they were going to send important papers like that they would do it as certified. My thought is it should be. After all they tell us if we send things it's up to us to make sure they arrive, to send them certified or to call them to make sure. They should have to do the same. I hope everything works out for you. I do know how social security can be. My sister has been fighting with them for years and I just started the battle. I'll keep you in my htoughts and hopefully they will get it all straight soon.

Thank you very much. They are jerks in my opinion. When it's something that entails someone's whole life they should make sure you got the information. That would just make sense. I know I check to make sure others get what I send when it's that important.

I hope that everything will work out for you and you will be able to receive your benefits again. Something like that is important especially when it is your only source of income. An what they failed to realize is that you never got the paperwork or they should have called to find out because you never know what is going on. That is why I hate dealing with the government. I will keep you in my prayers and hope that this all works out.

I will continue to send good vibes and positive energy your way. I kind of know what you are going through. I lost my medical assistance because they said I didn't turn in some papers and I know I did. But they are always right so its hard to argue with them. Now I am trying to get it back. Do you have any food pantries near you? We have several around here. I know it wouldn't be much but at this point every litte bit will help. And remember....when you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.

I know how you feel about the cats. I would always hope that the food pantries would give me some tuna fish or salmon so I could give it to my cats. I would rather go without than to see them be hungry.

I am sorry you're going through all of this. When it comes to getting benefits sorted out, it's a royal pain in the butt. I've been there before now and it took forever. When it finally got sorted, they owed us 4 months of back payments. I'm glad that a friend was able to give you a few bucks to see you through to get the relevant stuff mailed off. I hope it can be resolved quickly so you don't have to struggle too much. Don't worry about not being around for a while. We've all been in situations where we can't always be around before now. Soon enough everything will be sorted, and we'll be awaiting your return to Mylot eagerly. Take care.

I have complete confidence that you will get all this straightened out. Sadly, they always seem to try to say that they mailed out the forms...but for some reason or another, those forms just never seem to reach their destination. I don't know if that is the department using it as an escape or if they are trying to blame it on the postal department. LOL Either way, it puts you in a bind. So, go watch the battle scene of Narnia and be ready to fight sweetie! We will be here when you get back or have time.

I did download a form from SS website and mailed everythiing off today...by phone?? The jerks never answer, though I did leave about ten messages with the caseworker that had worked on my case before...you just can't get through to these jerks...and it seems it has to be all done with paperwork..as my one friend says, it gives these people a job to do, by shuffling papers around otherwise they wouln't have anything to do--LOL Thats a great offer about The Secret...will do..am reading the book--I'll give my Paypal addy if things get really desparate..I'm doing a wait and see thing..but will keep you in mind

My husband is on ssi disability too. We know first hand on what you are dealing with now. I don't understand why they have to mess with the money when we are not getting any better only worse. Can't they keep things the same and just send more papers? The state we live in did say they will renew our info every three years. This year is the year and still haven't heard a word. Good luck with yours. I know the frustration.

Good work! I'm proud of you for not letting them get you down. Itísn't easy, and it does'strain your nerves to the final twang to deal with bureacracy-but its necessary. Thank you too for being so thoughtful as to give us an update. With beltane at hand and a full moon tomorrow after midnight (wed 3 am) in Scorpio in a lunar cycle of Aries- time of fresh starts, deliverance and clearing away- so good energy surrounds you. And you will be mentioned in my circle. blessed be

Dear, dear, Pye! Do you have an SSI lawyer near you? You may be able to get help for a substantially reduced price. It doesn't hurt to go and interview a few of them. They won't charge for a first visit. A relative of mine had to do this, and did successfully get what was owed to her (plus back-benefits.) Do you have family to help you? Now is the time to talk to them. I will put on a spell for you. Now that I know what you need I can work it for you. Arg, isn't money an annoyance? Can you go to your local Social Services office in person? It may be worth it to take a day to do so and fully explain your situation to a counselor. Sometimes they can get you a few bucks spending money until the real thing comes in. I know, I had to do it myself. Degrading, but it got me through. And yes, tuna (even the low-grade stuff) will make you kitties happier than pigs in ****! They won't care at all. For the short-term, it's fine to feed them this way, as long as you get a bag of dry food to supplement it. Even that doesnt have to be the expensive stuff. They need their taurine, which all cat foods are required to have. If it comes to moving out, you should start asking around for someone to take the kitties for a short time. I have done this before - and luckily, my cat was unphased by the situation. They don't really care, so long as they get their food and sleep! They adjust quite well. Bringing them back after moving into a new place was a joy, too. So anyway, you're in my thoughts and tonight I'll work something for you.

hugs - Sending you cyber hugs
I'll be thinking of you hun. I hate having to deal with officialdom at the best of times, all the forms to be filled in and they never seem to check the records, leaving us to do their job for them half the time. (cyber hugs) for you

I will definately pray for you and hope that you get this all settled quickly and to your best benefit. I know how it hurts since my benefits were stopped in April, it made a big hole in my budget, that I am trying to fill up. Good luck and don't get discouraged.
