I have not personally used Vista so I cannot give a good judgement myself. But i have not heard many rave reviews about it. as a matter of fact people are upset that Microsoft wants to phase out XP quickly and force Vista down everyones throat, and Vista is simply not popular amongst the masses. What do you guys think?

I think it stinks, like someone else pointed out there are too many programs that arent compatible with it. Why must we constantly upgrade to a new operating system when they rarely seem to have any real improvements. It is just as bad as buying a new gaming counsel every few years why cant it ever be just a improvement on the existing system instead of a totally new system just so they can earn more money.

I have tried vista last january using my beta copy of it but it's really not ready for release and even if i didn't see so much change than of the user interface and the gadgets thingy there's no reason for you to upgrade. there's no reason for a typical user to switch because there are nothing much in vista the innovations there are just a copycat from mac os. macintosh have long implemented those features than of its windows counterpart. well don't buy vista yet after a service pack or something. oh and one thing you cannot run almost every old programs that you can run in xp. incompatible softwares.

booting up the first time is really slow it's like 2 minutes but after you first boot when you reboot again it's much faster than xp. well another thing your system must have 1gb of ram to run any vista variant in a decent speed. those gadgets and other running apps at the background is really hogging the memory. well shutting it down is a breeze. the sleep feature is like in macs. oh another thing you can use your flash disk as a ram.
