witchcraft to cause others harm or is that just something that is said by ignorant people?? Also do you believe people can have curses on them, and if so how would this be removed or known even??? Just wondering what others think on this...

This is such a tough question. Only those people with real powers themselves know. And the thing is, are there even such people around? Many people claim but no one knows except themselves.

I think that if someone really knows something, they are not likely to tell anyone and they are also going to be very careful with their powers unless they are very foolish. Just my opinion of the matter though. Do you agree??

Hard to say. If I have real power, I will go either extreme. I would either flaunt and publicize my powers, or keep it real hushed.

I think that if someone has real powers they would know that they could easily be exploited by others that were stronger in some way, Also it could be dangerous in some areas as people have been know to kill people for doing things that they did not understand. I think God gives everyone talents or gifts in different areas that can be used for good or for evil depending on the person. And I do believe some people are blessed with more understanding and compassion than others, and those are the ones I think may be able to know when it would be safe or not safe to let someone else know that they had a special gift of some kind. Just my opinion of course.

I'm going to answer this from more of a psychological viewpoint since I tend to believe that's mostly how spells and such work anyhow. If you "curse" someone and they believe it will work or have a suspicion that it might work even if they don't really believe it then they will probably start seeing anything bad that happens to them as being part of the curse. They may even subconsciously work towards making it happen. The term for it is self-fulfilling prophesy. If you think it will work then you will make sure it does...even if you don't mean to consciously. The good thing about this is that it can be used for good reasons too. If you pick up a penny with your birthdate on it and tell yourself it will bring you luck then you will start looking (even if it's subconsciously) for the good things to happen and may even find ways to bring it about. If you ever have a chance to ask some of your Wiccan relatives about how the spells work you might also ask them about the part that most say has to be a part of it. The part that calls for action that gives the spell a chance to work. For instance, in a spell asking for help in finding employment you may have a small statue with a few coins put there when asking for help, but it won't work if you don't ALSO send out a minimum of 5 resumes a day and start networking to look for a job.Now if someone throws powder in your face or has been giving you something that is laced with certain herbs that's not psychological and may have adverse effects even if you don't believe in it since there may be a strong medicinal herb or other chemical involved. Even Dr's have noticed that a patient does better with a form of medicine that they believe in than with something they don't when both forms may have an equal chance of working. In fact a patient may even start feeling better for a short time even if they only believe the medicine to be effective. This is where things like placebo affects come into play.

This makes the most sense to me and is pretty much what I think about it. Because I have heard things similar to this before and I think that in most cases this is the way things really work.

Yeah, I think I just tend to see a lot of things from this perspective. One of the side effects of studying psychology :)

Ya know i really see no colour in magick...there is (for me personally) no such thing as Black Magick or White Magick...Magick just IS - it has no colour at all OR you could say its a rainbow of colour but its never ever been nor will it ever be as simple as black and white.....Can you use spells etc to screw with someone...sure you can...will it always work....nope..but when it does it REALLY does...do you have to be a Witch to do it? not at all ;-) I've helped a couple ppl magickally put some less than savoury ppl in their place so to speak..... Spellcasting isnt as simple as yes/no, black/white, and so on...but its not complicated either.....

Black magic is an art used for centuries. Some people actually believe in it and some dont. i have read about several instances where people claim some black magic has been done on them and that its true. i guess it is just a matter of belief - if you believe it to be true it may just prove to be true but if you dont believe in it then no matter what happens to you , you wont feel its black magic.

But if someone does not believe does this mean that someone who says they can cast spells and curses can not do anything or they can and the other person that has the spells and curses places on them just thinks it is part of life or something????

"Witchcraft" is evil and is the devil's work. The Bible clearly warns to stay away from such things. Trust in the Living God...the One Who created you and loves you more than you can ever imagine...the One Who sent His only Son to die in your place so that you may live forever. "Witchcraft" is foolish and can harm those who try and practice such a thing. God bless.

I agree with you, I also think that if someone has or does practice this that it can and will effect their children and grandchildren. And I know for a positive fact that I have very close relatives that have and do practice witchcraft. I don't. I know just enough about it to know that this is not what I want to do. I also know that many that are practicing witchcraft (especially wicca) do not believe that they are doing anything that is all that bad, but it is, But if I argue with them, then I will never be able to let them see or know why I disagree with them. You can agree to disagree in a peaceable matter, there are some things I don't budge on and some things I let slide. Me practicing witchcraft no, I don't do that. I also do not do a lot of things that are based on the traditions of men, such as christmas trees, (these have a pagan origin, so I just don't) But my relatives do, I wish my relatives were not like they are, but no one can force anyone to believe or not believe anything.

Well anything can cause harm but a true witch would never do that it is against our beliefs and we have a three fold law... so according to our karma we would get that hurt three times worse than the person we originally hurt... so yes people can but they should never...

But is this true of all witches or just the ones that are of the wicca faith??? I have relatives that are of the wiccan faith and they have said this, that you said. But I also have other relatives that claim to practice other things so I am just uncertain on some things. I don't think anyone should ever set out to hurt someone else, but it seems like there are a lot of people in the world these days that are just being hurtful, It would be good if everyone of all faiths treated each other with the golden rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
