Do you feel sometimes that in some situations we identify more with one of the children and we also feel regretfull for sometimes prefer some qualities on one of them. Of course I feel that in other situations I prefer one of the others. Can you understand what I'm trying to ask? I hope so.

I understand perfectly what you're trying to ask.
It cannot even be called "favoritism" but yes, there are some qualities in one child that you would favor than the other and vice-versa.
I have 2 daughters. My eldest is quite organized and systematic. So I rely on her when we do the groceries.
For my youngest, she's the jolly, come-what-may type. So she keeps everybody "happy" in somber times or moods.
But I always am alert between the two as i don't want them to feel that i favor one from the other.
