What is your Countries Favourite Pasttime?

I am very interested in what other cultures do to pusue their pastimes. Pleaee tell me what is popular in your country.
In Australia, our favourite pastimes depend on the weather & the season.
In the summer, we are big beach goers, or swimming pools. We have some magnificent beaches. Sometimes people just relax at the beach. Others do surf life saving, or boogie boarding.
Also in summer, people like to play cricket or just watch. We also have a lot of bbq's in summer.
In Winter, people love to watch football. It is a very popular pastime.
Visiting parks is fairly popular too.

cricket is my nation's(india) favourite pastime...although our cricket team is not brilliant by any standards lol...but then cricket is like a religion for us....and we love it !!...we even have a slogan here--"eat cricket, sleep cricket, drink cricket!!"....unfortunately i would have preferred that we even "played cricket!!" Lol.

Another Australian here , my husband loves watching the football , I enjoy doing crafty stuff all year round !! We do not get alot of time as we have busy lives !!!

well in India the favorite pasttime for the common mass is watching cricket..listening to music ,watching movies and serials follow it closely..there are other hobbies which people do pursue like chating, dancing,travelling but it hardly matches the passion which cricket and bollywood entails..

I live in TX and here I must say we often consider ourselves another country... the republic of Texas, lol! Our favorite pasttime is probably barbecue. We do love our baseball and football... and any other sport that the longhorns (the university of texas' mascot) play like basketball and swimming. Almost everyone I knew growing up was in swimming during the summer or baseball. Great question! I love to learn more about my mylot friends from other countries.

Watching national sports here in the USA. Now it's been baseball season for a while and everyone here is rooting for their favorite team now matter how bad they are playing. In the late fall, we start football season and everyone is once again glued to the television. We can't forget ice hocky and basketball, but soccer is fast becoming the sports to watch.

My males friends all seem to enjoy sports the most. I enjoy BBQ's, anytime type of socialing, used to be a beach bunny but these days are long gone. I also enjoy reading, crocheting and of course myLot.

I my partof Canada it is in the sumer hiking, camping going to the beach BBQ's and watching soceer or baseball. In th ewinter it is skiing, sledding and definatly Hockey.

The favourite pastime in Malaysia particularly Sabah is eating and drinking (merry making). The ladies favourite pastime is playing cards. All year round we have festivals organised by the G'ment like Harvest festival, coconut festival, cabage festival etc. So this is the place the people here will swarm to witness during weekends.

Around here, everyone loves football in the winter, and baseball in the summer. A lot of people I know like to go fishing and hunting in the seasons. Golf is also popular, I've seen people out playing golf in the rain. Outdoor concerts in the summer are also popular.

In Malaysia, if you're staying in Kuala Lumpur our favorites past time are going for shopping and that will explain why all the shopping mall got really jammed packed with crowd over the weekends.
Besides that, Malaysia also love to go for movies and we love to dine out afterwards...because we're very rich multicultural country and the selection of delicacies are huge.

philippines again, here the most ever fav past time for any weather, for any season or just anytime of the is making babies!! lol, yep it is! especially for those families who are less fortunate in life, the fact that they cant even eat their meals 3-time a day they still and continue to produce more of their race, hmm maybe its what keeps them full and ignore what the tummy is sayin, lol! im really amazed that its like that, hehe

Sports are huge in this country. There are many fans of basketball, football and baseball. I watch some games and right now am following the Golden State Warriors, who weren't expected to beat Dallas, who was the #1 seed. They become the first #8 seed in NBA history to win a best-of-seven playoff series.

I think one of the favorite past times of the people here is sleeping, LOL! Our country is almost hot and humid all year round. Like yours, people also love to hike off somewhere for some cool splash of water. We also have a lot of popular beaches here. Another favorite past time is watching basketball and boxing. We have one boxer here who holds the highest rank in the whole world. I wish I can have the pleasure of having a little past time of my own. Its simply too impossible to indulge one right now considering the kind of lifestyle that I'm leading. Its HECTIC.

Hello,jennybianca,in addition to what you mention above, I think aussies also have other favourtie passtime,that is drinking and gambling, I can see many people gathering at the pubs or casino at the weekend,playing poker machines or drinking with their friends. It is something people will do in four seasons

here in the philippines, we also love going to beaches. we really have beautiful beaches here like boracay (if you have been here, you would say it's paradise!), or even el nido, palawan. we also love boat riding in rivers and lagoons. we have a lot of great boating sites here. Sometimes, we hike on mountains and even walk on man-made trails. When it's season of rains, we love eating comfort food while bonding with our families.

In the Philippines it the same it depends on the season. During summer we love to go for a swim in the beach we have too many beautiful beaches here. But on year round people here in my country loves to go on window shopping and loves to spend time with friends going around town or in the parks bringing some food to eat.
