I have uin my time had many experiences i cant explain and have worked as a psychic medium, i have no need to proove anything, my own experiences are enoough for me. However i have come across a few individuals who seem very negative with any discussion of this type, do you think they are scared or is there a religious conflict?

I think that it can work both ways. Sceptics are sceptics because they are scared and don't want to accept any sort of metaphysical reality, because it is beyond their ability to analyse it - it could be (probably be) of course a case of ego - i.e. they don't want to admit that there is no explanation other than the metaphysical because they would look silly trying to explain it (if you can understand all that!). On the other hand, some religions are there through fear to. They create a creator god that is explainable and this acts as a buffer to what Zen Buddhists call the Great Void or "noth-in-ness" where everything and everybody become totally integrated and whole. They (ego-mind) doesn't want there to be "no-thing" and lose individuality, they want something that the analytical mind can relate to, like a creator god that will give happiness. The fear comes here from the possibility that all evil will be consumed by good and vice-versa. Resistance that you refer to here is a very deep and complex matter, yet paradoxically very simple if we can just accept things exactly as they are. We will then transcend all resistances and become at one with all, leading to enlightenment, nirvana, satori or heaven depending on the belief. It all disappears into "at-one-ment" and attainable whilst occupying our physical shell. Tell me, where do I get it from? LOL..

Yes, I would say they are scared of the unknown, or perhaps a conflict of some sort. I guess it goes against the teachings of the church. But there is no denying, some people are mediums and my own sister is one of them, although my other sister does not believe in that at all!

you put your finger on it exactly. You are correct, those of us who have the gift just know. Those who do not can only rationalise their own lack of experience in negative terms, any other way would suggest they are inadequate blessed be

I personally think it is a bit of both to be honest with you Scared and Religious People sometimes do not want to face the Reality of things

Yes you are right.there are some people wo are negative or don't believe in such things.but i do & i know that some people have certain extra ordinary powers. In fact my husband can read minds & can tell you what you are doing from anywhere. He says that he can do this .Certainly he has some extra ordinary powers. Many people mix it with religious things.so they can't except the psychicness .

Some people are very afraid of what they don't understand. Fear and religious beliefs keep them from seeing the actual truth and ghosts and such things will not appear to them to show them because they are not pushy and do not go into places of bad energy. Fear of the unknown is what keeps theater goings coming back for more and more horror flicks. It is just the way some people are made.

Yes, I think they are. Great people of our history, Einstein, Plato, Walt Disney and etc ASKED questions. Skeptics are just scarred, denying doesn't make it go away. Brave people is open minded.
