I enjoy sewing, but cannot stand to put in a zipper. It never comes out correctly even with the zipper foot Anyone have a easy way to put in a zipper or any suggestion?

first you baste the opening closed just how you would sew a seam. Usually I close the seam and then switch the machine to a longer stitch to baste the zipper opening closed. Then you line up the zipper with the basted opening on the inside. Line up your zipper foot to catch as much of the zipper nylon that you can. Stitch from the middle of the bottom all the way around the corner and up to the top. About an inch from the top, stop the machine and put your needle in the fabric and lift the presser foot. Then push the zipper pull down and out of the way of the foot. Put the foot back down and finsih stitching to the top. Repeat onthe other side. I hope that helps. I am so terrible at explaining things. Sewing for Dummies has a great explination if you want to look it up.

Thank you, your directions were great. I will try to baste in the future.

putting in a zipper is a very easy task to accomplish you just sew in the sides of the zipper you sew the zipper in on three different sides leaving one side not sewn into the fabric at the top of the zipper make sure the zipper is sewn in very secure or else the stitches will come out when you go to wash or wear the garment of clothing you can use a sewing machine or sew it in by hand in my opinion sewing the zipper in using a sewing machine is faster
