Will you feel embarrassed if a lot of medical students check for you?

Frankly, I felt very embarrassed and nervous when the medical students checked for me. As at that time I was pregnant and I had never experienced to let so many people looked at me. And they didn't advise me at first, so I didn't prepare for it at all. It might even have an effect on my baby. As at that time my baby's heart beat was 159, although no more than 160 was still normal.

Of course you're normal to be embarrassed about a herd of strangers looking at and touching your most intimate parts. In a teaching hospital, you do agree to allow students, interns and residents to learn by participating in your care, but you as a patient still have rights. You have the right to refuse any exam, medicine or procedure that you don't want. It is unacceptable for care providers to examine you without telling you what they're doing. I'm sorry that happened to you.

Actually I won't refuse it, after all they are doctors and I don't want to get any troubles. I just hope they can let me know earlier. It'll be quite nervous to be checked in crowded, I didn't expect it at all.

If you are in the U.S., you can't get in trouble for refusing, and they can't force any treatment or exam on you.

It doesn't really bother me, although I can definitely see why it would be a little unnerving! I think because I had to spend a lot of time in hospitals, walking around with clipboards, when I was doing my pharmacy internships, I understand why they need to do it too. How will they ever learn otherwise? But, I can understand not wanting to feel like you were part of a movie or something!

I know, but it'll better they advise you about it earlier. So that at least you can prepare for it.

I had surgeries when I was younger, one of them was at a teaching hospital so I'm used to being exposed and having a roomful of people with clipboards looking at me lol. When I had my son, there were a lot of people there and I really didn't notice until they left because it got really quiet.
