6in12years I wouldn't worry at this point, as long as he's still getting most of his nutrition from breast milk or formula. Just keep offering other things. At this age, he can eat almost anything-just avoid foods that are the size, shape or texture to be a choking...

Home Made Baby Food

anij34 @anij34 (317) • United States 24 Jul 07

When my daughter was born I went as all natural as possible. Which to me included making my own baby food. I know that most people use a food mill or a strainer but I simply used my blender. I would steam the fruits and...

6in12years I don't and probably won't, but I don't use a lot of jarred baby food, either. With my last, she vomited purees, so I didn't use any at all. I'll probably go just to table food with this one as well. I don't do any solids until 6 months so they can handle most...

6in12years I think a temporary separation to keep everyone safe is probably a good idea. I would definitely follow up with some family counseling, though. It's likely that he is feeling rejected in favor of the "new" family, and having to be sent away (although it does...

I had a little bit of a dissagreement with my fiance this evening. If a teenage girl or boy comes up to you, you know friends of your kids, and asks you a real important question like; "Can I get pregnant while on my period?",...

6in12years It depends. If it's information they're looking for, I'd give it (especially for an older child). If they want advice, I would be careful but might consider it. My advice is pretty conservative, though, so not likely to get me in trouble with parents. If they...

As a mother, do you consider yourself over protective?

ginger73 @ginger73 (30) • Philippines 12 Jul 07

I am not only over protective but also too protective. I always call her on the phone, I always bring her to the doctor at a slightest sneeze. I love my kid so much that I tend to give intructions over & over again to her nanny....

6in12years I try not to be overprotective, because my father was and it made our relationship difficult. It's hard to find the balance. We can make our children afraid of life, or keep them from having a life, if we hold on too tight. But we do have a responsibility to...

Only Children - Spoiled?

kristypants @kristypants (305) • Canada 19 Dec 06

I got in a fight with my mother-in-law earlier. She was telling me that I'd better have another soon so that my daughter doesn't grow up an only child. She says that only children turn out spoiled, self centered, bratty, and...

6in12years Of course being an only child isn't a guarantee of being spoiled. There are some things that being one of many teaches naturally, but it's possible to teach an only child those things. It's really important IMO for kids to understand that they aren't the only...

6in12years I would recommend letting your daughter deal with it. If you step in and help, it may seem to the child that you, not her mother, are the authority. And I'm very impressed that you asked. Too many grandparents don't see the problem with undermining parents.

How do I say no to my three year old without getting a tantrum?

beautyqueen26 @beautyqueen26 (16030) • United States 8 Jul 07

My three year old is going through a very difficult stage right now. Whenever she wants something, she demands to have it immediately. And, she won't take no for an answer. She'll just keep asking until she gets it. Or, she'll get...

6in12years You can't. Toddlers throw tantrums-it just goes with the age. You can minimize them by giving choices when possible, by NOT giving choices that aren't possible (ex: Don't ask "are you ready to go to bed now?" unless you want to hear "no". Just say "It's time...

6in12years I don't think who we are is static. We change as we mature. Like a stream running through rocks-the rocks alter the course of the stream, but the water changes the shape of the rocks. That's how life works-I impact those around me and change their lives, and...
