WHY did paypal take a dollar from me? I added my credit card to pay pal and

logged into my credit card account online this morning. I had debit of one dollar to paypal. I don't understand why they took this and I know it is a small amount. My status is still unverified with paypal even though they have my credit card number. I SEARCHED paypal's help section and do not see anything about a fee for adding credit cards etc. Also I thought when you add your credit/debit card that your paypal funds go right onto the card. Has any one else experienced this? Can someone familar with paypal please help me here? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure why Paypal would take a dollar from your account just for adding a credit card to it. I would call Paypal and ask them what happened to your account. I added a bank account and a credit card to mine and had to wait for Paypal to credit me two small credits in change to my bank account before I became verified. They didn't take any money from me though. I don't think your funds go right on the card. You have to choose which account you want your money sent to and them Paypal will send that money when you request a withdrawal, but not until then.

I know it's only a dollar but I just don't understand it I think I will call them. What do you mean you had to wait for paypal to credit you two small credits in change? Thanks for responding steph!

I dont know maybe there are some fees to pay for you to get the money here.I do have paypal but i havent yet open it and put cash on it.Which country you come from?I am from philippines and i dont know how to get money from paypal.

I am fro USA. I don't know about your country. I have seen some discussions on the Philippines and pay pal tho. Good luck maybe you can request they send you a check?

They do this to verify the account. IT should diappear in 3-4 business days it is basically a dummy charge to verify that they have the correct card and that it is a valid and usable card. If it doesn't disappear in a few days then I would contact paypal.

When I signed up for paypal and added my credit card they took 0.11 cent just to check and see if it was a correct card number. But they added it back in a couple days. I think it is just a precaution to make sure the account # is correct.
