i was driving down the road and a taxi ran the stop sing and we both slammed on the brakes. he almost hit me. we are then both sitting in the middle of the intersection and he casually waves me to go first. i couldn't beleive it. he runs a stop sing, almost hits me and i get nothing but a casual wave to keep going. no sorry. i find taxi drivers in my town are such in a hurry to get as many people in and out of their cabs that they don't drive carefully.

Its a matter of competition to enable to earn more and survive. But then, it does no good if an accident would then result as a consequence. If you're really good driver, you shouldnt have gone beyond your limits. It is always good to comply and or obey traffic rules and regulations because its always for the safety of not just yourself but to everyone.

Two years ago on my B-day I went through an intersection. I had a green light. The pickup driver went through the red light and did $3,000 + damage to my car. Luckily his insurance paid for it. I didn't think that I was hurt at first but two hours later my back started hurting and I started shaking. After a year at the chiropractor I was released from his treatment and collected a $3,600 settlement. The young man driving was talking on a cell phone at the time. People drive like what you describe wherever they are. Luckily your car wasn't damaged and you weren't hurt. It seems like we have to look out for ourselves and everyone else also.

Taxi drivers seem to always drive crazy. I try my best not to ever hire a cab unless there's absolutely no other alternative. I remember one incident where it was very wet and I was exiting the freeway and there was another car in front of me going at a pretty good speed. This cab was driving extremely fast, slams on his brakes, almost hitting me, flashes his lights, honks his horn and flips me off. I thought it was extremely funny and disturbing at the same time. What would he want me to do? There was no where for me to go or pull over. Finally, he goes around me, honks his horn, makes sure I see him make a cross sign (I had a Jesus fish on the back of my car) and proceeds to give me all kinds of nasty hand gestures. I almost called the police because I feared he was going to kill someone with his driving. I don't know what his problem was, because I know I wasn't doing anything wrong or could do anything about whatever it was making him mad.

That's crazy, I would have been scared at first, and then irritated after. I have seen cabs do some really scary stuff sometimes, and the one's i've seen just love to cut people off, but they cut it so close they are extremely close to causing an accident. Glad you didn't get hurt though and everything was okay!

Perhaps where I live is a small town. Basically I seldom saw taxi here. Also the traffic here is good because the people here are not too many. But anyway, I think whoever drive a car or some other traffic utility should obey the regulation and rules. That is not only concerned your own life but also has relationship with the others.

I would have gotten his license number and called the main office on him.

Ok, this is my experience also in a taxi. The taxi was my friend's taxi and together with my other friends. We hang out in a bar and we used the taxi of my friend, and he's also our driver that night. We got a lil bit drunk in the bar so we decided to go home but we took a rest first before we go. But my friend who owns the taxi is still drunk i guess, and he was driving the taxi on the way home. But what happened was, while we are on our way home.. We got a minor accident as our taxi bumped the bumper of other car in front of us and its really quite bad. The comotions was there and it's really hard to get out in that situation. So the man who owns the car said that he'll be waiting for us to take the taxi at the side of the road as we're at the middle of the road that time, so the car moved to the side but i was expecting my friend to move the car also at the side of the road but guess what? He turned our taxi to other way instead. and we run so fast and knowing that my friend is drunk, i was so worried that we'll get another accident if he continues to run fast. But no choice, we had to. But Thank God coz we're all safe. But then, my friend faced the problem after awhile. Have a nice day ahead from Francis.
