We have rural areas which became industrialized and thus citified. The process is to be considered bad, as people living in those areas are exposed to all sorts of pollution likely to affect their health and well being. Large scale industrialization - alongside with progress, it is detrimental to the health of the dwellers of the place. Do you agree ?

My own decision to live in a rural area is based on experience. I grew up 3 blocks from Main Street in a small town, went on to move to a larger, neighboring town, from there to Indianapolis and back to the small town life. From small town life (every one thinks they know everyone's business, etc.) to another big city 30 minutes away. From there to Clearwater, Florida (the traffic there was maddening!), back home to small town life, on to another big city, back to small town, etc. The only thing better than living in a rural neighborhood would be to live way out in the sticks with no neighbors for acres around...neither the pollution/crime factors of the city nor the nosiness of the small town are for me anymore.

I had started a discussion on the subject. I am having great attachment towards village rather than town and I love calm atmosphere. I agee with your views, but there is no other way to reduce un-employment problems.

I do not agree, although growth is important, digging up every last bit of the world will come back to haunt us in the end.
