My 12 yo is very interested in fibre crafts. I would like to get her started on loom weaving. What type do you think would be a good beginner's loom, that would be easy enough to learn yet interesting enough to keep her motivated? A heddle loom or a triloom? I pretty much think she has graduated from the potholder looms, and she has been having great fun with her beading loom - making beautiful designs. I would really like to help her nurture these interests and maybe when she is older she can supplement or make a healthy contribution to her household's income. Money is a factor so whatever we decide will have to be introductory priced....then maybe if she shows a continued interest we can work our way up. (the image below comes from http://www.ashford.co.nz/spinning/spinning-frameset.htm take a look at their beautiful products!

Well, Modestah, I'm not much help here, but after checking out the website, you've found a convert! No wonder your 12 year old is interested in the art. :) The spinning wheels, and looms are beautiful works of art themselves! I can just imagine the wonderful fibres and fabrics that can be created. Sorry I couldn't help, but I'll be watching the post, hopefully, to find more information for myself. Sigh, too many hobbies, so little time. :)
