Were you born old?

It seems to me some people become very mature and responsible at a very young age. Myself I am very immature for my age, I'm in my 40's and act like I am in my 20's and sometimes younger still. My hubby is in his 50's and is just getting mature and responsible now. Our main goal in life is to have fun and keep laughing. My best friend is married to a guy that acts like he is an old man. Everything is by the book and very regimented. Life is laid out and everything is done correctly and on time. I think he is an extreme bore. Do you think some people are born with an old sole and never have fun just for the sake of fun and others are born young and spend the rest of their life in pursuit of happiness.

I have a combination. I can be quiet naive and yet very mature. I understand things that takes other years more to understand. I would say your idea of fun is not everyone else's idea. Perhaps your best friend's husband won't find things that you enjoy, enjoyable. I suppose you would find me a bore. I am willing to sacrifise fun just to do more other things that are more important to me. Life takes planning. I don't want to wake up one day and realise I've had fun all the time and I've ended up nowhere. Its very good that you are able to have fun a lot. It keep you feeling fresh. I am the way I am because I would really really freak out if I ended up with no form of social security.

I don't worry. What I mean is I have some goals that I am looking to acheive in a few years. Ofcourse you have to sacrifice some time to achieve that. After that you can take more time off to play.

You are right of course once we get our lives in order and all worked out we will have plenty of time to play.

My greatest fear is being an old lady with nothing and eating cat food every day. I am serious enough to know we have to work for the future, but if you do nothing but worry about what will happen in the future you may miss the joys of today.

Myself I am immature for my age.I'm an adult but still some people consider me as a teenager from my appearance.I experienced an embarrassed thing when I was a high school student and my cousin was also in the same school like me but I was in grade 3 and she was in grade 2.Some day when we went together to the main building,we encountered her classmates and the girl asked my cousin:"Is she your younger cousin?"The question made us feel so embarrassed and I had to tell her that I am the older one.But I'm happy when someone says"You look younger than your real age."

I love it when someone thinks I am younger that I am. I think the older you get the younger you want to look.

Yes,quite right.People want to keep looking younger than their real age.Not only women want this, but also for men.For example,my grandpa, when he went shopping with my uncle,he said:"I don't want to shirt,it makes me look old.I prefer the Polo T-shirt."Actually,my grandpa is in his 70's but he still looks like 40's.And my papa,he looks younger than his age.Once we encoutered my classmate on a bus and the next day my classmate asked me whether the handsome man beside me was my elder cousin.I said"No,he is my papa."I told this story to my papa and he was so proud of it.So,it is true that people want to keep youth.

I've always been old for my age, since being a bossy toddler who always thought I knew best. I'm an eldest child, and my parents were quite young when they had me, so that may have contributed to my maturity. However, being old for my age doesn't mean that I can't enjoy myself and be spontaneous. Being "old" doesn't necessarily mean being regimented, and being responsible doesn't mean you can't have a daft sense of humour too. These are just stereotypes which are ascribed to parents by their kids, generally. As with most things in life, it's a case of balance, and humour can often be used by mature people who do take serious things seriously, as a way of dealing with those things.

Ever since I was a young child, I've always been told that I have an old soul. I act so much older than I really am and I did so then. I'm not sure what the deal is, I don't know why I do. Sometimes, I have my immature moments, but who doesn't? Sometimes it's great to chill out and not act your age. It keeps you young and it helps fight stress. Sometimes though, there are times when I really could act younger and I just don't. It's like I'm the momma bear watching out for everyone, even those that are older than me! I hate seeing friends screwed over or in bad situations, even if they are having fun with it and trying to make the best out of the situation.

If it weren't for people like you watching out for people the world would be a lot worse off.

Sometimes I wish we could just travel back in time to our childhoods and enjoy them again.

It's good to to know what you feel at that age. I'm 50 and my husband, 54 and we are almost like you. The only thing is that we haven't anylonger the same energy like when we where completely young.. :)

That is the only drawback of age, I do things now that I did at 20 and it takes a day or so to recover! I'm hoping for a fountain of youth to pop up somewhere!

Well you are very lucky in having such an attitude towards life.Your ship is sailing in calm waters, hence life is fun,but if your ship enters troubled waters, dont loose your calm.Life has a different meaning for each individual, and circumstances force a person to act in different ways.

Hi whywiki Im young at heart. I had to grow up at a young age because I was forced to. You see my mom had heart surgery when I was only 10 years old. So I had to look after my sister and help with things around the house. I taught myself how to cook and have been cooking ever since.LOL So in these situations we must grow up at a very early age. I like to laugh and I enjoy life to the fullest. And it sounds like you do too. Take care.

I think there's a difference between being matured and acting 'old'. Matured people can be lively, free and young. On the other hand, the ones who act 'old' maybe a lil more 'difficult'. But that could be because of certain things in life that shape them to be so. The best we can do, to show them life :) Warmest regards QuaChee http://www.quachee.com http://www.quachee.blogspot.com http://www.batikinspirations.com http://www.batikinspirations.blogspot.com http://www.themalaysiapage.com
